Bio Picture Dzana Homan

Dzana served four years as COO of Goddard Systems, a franchised educational services company. She has earlier CEO tenure in franchised educational services, with two and a half years as CEO of Huntington Learning Centers and over five years as CEO of Futurekids Computer Learning Centers. She began her corporate career working for a franchisee, so she has been on both sides of the franchisor/franchisee table and possesses very strong franchisee relations sensibilities and skills. Beyond her industry and CEO experience, Dzana is a classically trained pianist who has also played rock/contemporary music and sang in clubs. She joined School of Rock in 2014.

Bio Picture Shannon Holtzman
Senior Vice President of Accounting and Finance

Shannon’s extensive work in music and franchising has helped her oversee financial growth for multiple companies, including as Controller for School of Rock. Her music background includes eight years at House of Blues and Live Nation where she was VP of Finance.  She joined School of Rock in 2012.

Bio Picture Carl Hinds
Vice President of Operations

Carl picked up electric guitar at age 11. He has released several albums on Columbia Records with the band Dandelion, toured internationally, and has had his music featured in several motion pictures and television shows. He has also written the music for several children's theater productions that continue to tour nationally. Carl joined School of Rock in 2005. He lives in Portland with his wife and three children.

Colin Fitzpatrick
Vice President of Franchise Development

Colin grew up all over the place but would call Houston, TX his hometown.  Prior to joining School of Rock, he worked in franchise development for a large multi-branded franchisor and has been involved in franchising in various capacities since the ripe age of 15.  Colin is a singer/songwriter/guitarist and loves 90's era rock.  He is passionate about School of Rock's mission and considers it a privilege to play a role in helping people find the greater sense of purpose SoR provides.

Bio Picture Len Sitnick
Senior Director of Training and Program Development

Len began playing guitar as a teenager in the DC area, fronting several local bands. He began playing bass years later and continues to play bass with the John LT Band. Before School of Rock, Len co-founded Tectrix Inc, a provider of training in desktop productivity, design, and graphics applications. Combining his expertise in curriculum development and training with his music background, Len later founded, which allowed students worldwide to study with highly sought-after musicians. In 2006, Len joined of School of Rock, opening locations in Baltimore and Washington DC. In 2011, he took the position of Director of Company Operations, supporting a portfolio of company-owned schools.In 2012, he moved to his current position, developing business and program training for owners and managers, and music training and support for music staffs. In addition, he oversees the development of SoR curriculum and programming.

Bio Picture Sam Dresser
Senior Director of Information Strategy

Sam, a saxophone player, has always had a passion for music as well as technology. While pursuing a music degree in Jazz Studies at DePaul University in Chicago, he also began to work at Apple in its retail stores. After completing his degree, he ended up spending almost ten years at Apple focusing on technical support, management, and training. His two passions have now found their home at School of Rock. He has been with School of Rock since 2013, and today he oversees the use of technology across the company to ensure training, support, and systems, are all world class.

Bio Picture Chuck Prentner
Director of Franchise Development

Chuck comes to School of Rock with over 25 years experience in franchise development.  Chuck's passion for music started early as a drummer.  He has always been active in coaching youth sports so combining his love of music and kids along with franchising has been a dream come true.

Bio Picture Stephanie Scianna-Pitts
Director of Franchise Operations

Stephanie is a pianist, vocalist, keyboardist, and fine artist with degrees in Music and Fine Art. She was a special education art teacher in Miami, Florida before moving to New York City where she continued her career in education as an Executive Director at The Princeton Review SES division. She oversaw field and internal operations of multiple schools within the NYC area and helped the division grow from a start up to a multi-million dollar business. Stephanie then found her home at School of Rock, infusing her passion for music, education and business in multiple roles, including General Manager, Northeast Regional Manager, and now, as the Director of Franchise Operations and Special Projects.

Bio Picture Justin Nihiser
Director of Franchise Operations

Justin grew up in Ohio, dreaming of the day when he'd be able to make music a part of his job. He graduated Berklee College of Music in 2004 and joined the millions of other folks who were quickly migrating to sunbelt cities, eventually landing in Atlanta. While still finding his way in the south, Justin was tapped to open a School of Rock, and he's not looked back since. Justin has also written music that currently receives airtime on dozens of networks and hundreds of shows globally, including having his music used on the closing ceremonies of the 2012 Olympics. Justin has been with School of Rock since 2007.

Bio Picture John Guffey
Director of Franchise Operations

John Guffey (always referred to as just "Guffey", sort of like Cher) has been with School of Rock since 2008, and is the former General Manager and Music Director at our highly successful school in Portland, OR.  He was recruited to be one of the Directors of Franchise Operations in 2014, and his knowledge of what we do from both the business and musical sides makes him a valuable addition to the franchise support team.

Bio Picture Ken Tomczack
Franchise Development Coordinator

A Denver semi-native, Ken has spent his entire career working in the music business including radio and concert promotions at venues such as Fiddler’s Green, Pepsi Center and the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater. A singer and guitarist, Ken recently released a melodic hard rock album "Thrill To Your Touch" under the band name Fortress.  He is excited to help franchise candidates across the world learn more about School of Rock franchising and the scope of SoR programs.
